Same store sales for the quarter grew 11.6%. All formats, regions and categories show increases in sales, but the La Comer format had the best results, followed by City Market, Fresko and Sumesa.
By region, greater growth in same-store sales was observed in the West and the Northwest, and by category, the one with the greatest displacement was food, which includes prepared food, tortillas, and bakery.
The level of sales of the digital platform La Comer en tu Casa continues at important levels, presenting stability against previous quarters, although the company did not provide further details.
The company presented a cash balance of 2,525 million pesos, which indicates an increase of 447 million pesos in cash in December 2022.
The inventory level was located at 4,729 million pesos and that of suppliers at 4,657 million pesos. Inventory turnover as of March 2023 was 69 days and that of suppliers was 68 days.
According to the financial report sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), La Comer had some accounts with relevant increases in expenses, which relate to wages and salaries, spending on packaging and advertising.
Today, the retailer has 80 stores that operate in four formats: City Market, Fresko, La Comer and Sumesa. In total, its sales floor is 353,219 square meters, concentrated in the metropolitan area of Mexico City, where 50% of its commercial establishments are located.
The retailer also operates 321 stores that are located in shopping centers, next to its stores and also has three distribution centers.
