Premise Pictures announces that it is launching a series of 3D NFTs based on their original Ocean Rescue Battalion (ORB) IP for children to be minted on the Cardano blockchain. The NFT series will launch in mid-October, marking an early venture from the leading international animation brand.
The ORB NFT series is being overseen by Stale and Athca, founders of PlanetPalz.io, who launched their 12,000 unique series on the Cardano blockchain in May 2021. In the spirit of ORB, Cardano was selected as the preferred blockchain as it is considered one of the most environmentally sustainable and hosts a positive and supportive community..
Ocean Rescue Battalion (ORB) is a environment-focused 3D animated action-adventure-comedy franchise. Follow a vast underwater colony of horseshoe crabs that have evolved to use wondrous technologies to maintain and restore the Great Ocean from ecological disaster. The ORB Universe 360-Degree Business Model aims to encourage and share positive environmental stories with its audience through humor. ORB was shortlisted in the UK’s C21 Animation Marketing Competition.
Premise Pictures will release a series of 3,500 collectible 3D NFT characters. Known as ‘Agents’, each one will be unique. Paula Dinan, creative producer and IP creator, says:
Releasing ORB as an NFT series represents the audience-first approach we’re taking to bring sustainability-focused animation to the world. As an ‘Agent’ holder, you will have the option to have your unique character considered as one of twelve ‘randomly selected characters’ that will appear on our multi-platform brand in the future
Andy Briggs (Tarzan; Aquaman) and Theo Baynton (Thunderbirds Are Go, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe;) have joined the creative team as writer and director of animation, respectively.
“I’m excited that we’re looking to leverage the NFT series as an inclusive way to help the brand reach a diverse audience. 5% of each NFT minted will be donated equally between two ‘ocean-oriented community initiatives’ and the ‘Alzheimer’s Society’. We are particularly open to discussions with partners who want to be involved with an industry-leading creative franchise that educates their audience about the importance of protecting our oceans and marine ecosystems. We hope to meet some of them at BLE next month.”, they commented.
