A new mule of what appears to be the future Porsche 911 Safari has been hunted while running during tests on the Nordschleife track of the Nürburgring circuit. On this occasion, the test unit spotted had new bodywork.
It is clear that the German firm is preparing a crossover version of its legendary sports car. A true production version of the Porsche 911 Safari, which we assume will be inspired by the eponymous racing versions that were created in the 1970s and 1980s to compete in gravel rallies.
In recent months there have been several sightings of test units of this variant with a strange frame configuration, with visibly wider axles and a noticeably raised suspension scheme compared to regular versions of the German model.
So there is no doubt that the German firm is developing a variant of the Porsche 911 that has higher ground clearance and a longer travel suspension scheme, in addition to reinforced and oversized axles. Although at the moment we cannot confirm what other aesthetic novelties will accompany this version during its presentation.

The unit that stars in this new series of spy photos has been hunted during tests at the Nürburgring and It has small news with respect to other specimens sighted, as is the case with the wheel arches, which seem to be the definitive ones.
All units seen so far were slightly modified test mules that featured makeshift wheel arches, in some cases made of white plastic. But this new specimen sighted mounts a more advanced configuration than includes wider wheel arches and more elaborately integrated into the side panels, so we believe that it is its final configuration or at least one closer to the production one.
