After a difficult week to Grand Touring 7Kazunori Yamauchi, president of Polyphony Digital and creator of the series, has issued a statement related to the future of this new installment, as well as the changes and improvements that will come in the future.
Through the PlayStation Blog, an apology and explanation has been offered for the recent patch Grand Touring 7, which caused a great commotion in the community, since it prevented access to the game for almost 24 hours. This was what was said about it:
“Thank you for your continued support and feedback on Gran Turismo 7, your voices have not gone unheard. I would like to apologize for the frustration and confusion caused last week with our patch updates that resulted in not only a server outage, but also adjustments to the game economy that were made without clear explanation to our community.
The previously implemented patch update was intended to fix an issue with inconsistent reward payouts within a portion of the world circuit events. But in order to restore the intended balance and deliver more accurate rewards based on time investment and completion, the entire reward system had to be recalculated.”
As a form of compensation, all affected players will receive one million credits if they enter Grand Touring 7 before April 25. With this, it has been mentioned that early next month, a new update will arrivewhich includes:
-Increases the rewards in the events of the second half of the world circuits by approximately 100% on average.
-Added high rewards for completing the circuit experience on all Gold/All Bronze results.
-Increased rewards in Online Races.
-Includes a total of eight new one-hour drag race events for missions. These will also have higher reward settings.
-Increase the upper limit of unpaid credits in players’ wallets from 20M Cr. to 100M Cr.
-Increases the number of Used and Legend cars on sale at any time.
Along with this, between today and the end of April, Grand Touring 7 will receive a series of small updates that will add new cars and course designs, as well as some other fixes. Lastly, Yamauchi has shared a list of improvements that are coming to this game in an as yet undetermined future:
-Increase the payout value of limited time rewards as we develop a live service.
-More additions to the World Circuit event.
-Added endurance races to missions, including 24 hour races.
-Added online time trials and awarding of rewards according to the difference of the player with the best ranked time.
-Do it so the cars can be sold.
On related topics, Grand Touring 7 suffers from review bombing. Likewise, all of this will come to the post-launch game.
Editor’s Note:
It’s good to see that Yamauchi and his team are doing their best to improve this experience. However, it seems that the game’s biggest problem, the requirement to always be connected, is something that will stay, which will surely annoy more than one.
