In August 2021, sales of plug-in hybrid cars in Spain reached 2,698 units, which translates into a strong growth of 102% when compared with the data obtained in the same period of the previous year. The CUPRA Formentor has touched the victory.
The plug-in hybrid car continues to gain followers in the Spanish territory. During the past month of August 2021 the plug-in hybrid car sales in Spain have reported a total of 2,698 units, which results in a strong 101.95% growth if compared with the same period of time of the previous year. The plug-in hybrid vehicle’s market share stands at 4.7%. Almost double that of the electric car.
The accumulated figures are equally positive. And it is that, in the period between the months of January and August 2021, new plug-in hybrid car registrations reached 25,909 units, 178.02% more compared to 2020. In the accumulated period, the market share stands at 3.63%.
Regarding the Plug-in hybrid passenger car registrations, the figures are practically those cited above. The reason? The vast majority of plug-in hybrid vehicles sold in Spanish territory are passenger cars. This technology, popularly known as “all in one”, has established itself strongly in the passenger car market.
Throughout August, 2,693 plug-in hybrid passenger cars were sold, 101.87% more than in 2020. And during the first eight months of 2021, 25,852 plug-in hybrid passenger cars were sold, 178.33% more compared to the same period of the year last.
