If 24 hours ago we talked about the possibility of Netflix adding video games to its platform according to a Bloomberg report, today there is a news item that could overturn this decision, since the company that could be behind this movement will not would be none other than Sony, who would join Netflix to compete with Xbox Game Pass.
Icons in the source code point to Dual Sense and Ghost of Tsushima
This is all due to an alleged leak by dataminers Steve Moser, who claims that the name within the source code of this project is Shark, depicted with a shark fin in your iOS app. The grace of this is found in that these files also contain icons of the Dual Sense, as well as the title Ghost of Tsushima, both being exclusive products of Playstation 5.
Netflix’s gaming feature has a current working name of “Shark” and is represented by this image in their iOS app: a shark fin. Could an image of PS5 controllers and Sony’s Ghost of Tsushima (director’s cut coming Aug. 20th) indicate a partnership with $ SONY? DC @HedgeyeComm $ NFLX pic.twitter.com/FLghlRlu20

Obviously this it is no more than mere speculation, but it does not downplay the possible movement that could be seen in the video game industry if it is real. Netflix is a platform that has millions of users around the world, so open to those same users the possibility of playing the PlayStation 5 exclusives it could be a serious blow to Xbox Game Pass.
Be that as it may, we will have to wait to see if a company denies or confirms it, which is quite difficult to create if we take into account that the statements about these leaks are not usually common. Likewise, it cannot be ruled out that PlayStation is a mere collaborator. It will be necessary to see what happens in the future.
