pinterest announced the expansion of its presence in Latin America with the inauguration of its new offices in Mexico City. These will house the company’s engineering hub in the region, where hundreds of experts will collaborate with brands, advertisers and content creators throughout Latin America.
“From this new office we will continue to develop the new generation of technology to make Pinterest an essential shopping destination and work so that it continues to be that oasis on the internet where users, brands and creators can interact organically and safely”, explains André Loureiro. , General Manager for Latin America.
Pinterest is full of axolotls and alebrijes
Since the year 2021, Mexico City has positioned itself for Pinterest as the operations center to face the increase in electronic commerce and the great ecosystem of content creators that exists in the region. The platform currently has more than 450 million monthly active users, 20 of them in Mexico.
This complicity between Pinterest and Mexico was the common thread for the development of this great project. These new offices have a variety of work spaces inspired by pre-Hispanic Mexico and current Mexican culture, such as the Alebrijes, Axolotl, Cempasúchil, Fondita, Mezcal bar or Cenote rooms.
With two floors in a building located at Paseo de la Reforma 509, these new offices have sustainable characteristics; For example, the furniture is reused in most of the workstations and this office also has the company’s commitment to obtain 100% renewable electricity in its offices worldwide by 2023.
With the opening of its new facilities, Pinterest continues to promote its PinFlex model, with which collaborators have the possibility of choosing to work from the officesfrom home or from a virtual location, considering that it is essential to allow work to direct the style of collaboration, instead of assigning the number of days that employees will be in the office.
Finally, for activities and projects that are best done in person, teams can plan visits to the Pinterest office, and the company covers travel expenses for employees who live too far to commute.
