We want a future without cigarette smoke, which means a future without cigarette butts
pointed out Andrzej Dabrowski, president of Philip Morris Mexico.
And it is that we must remember that cigarette butts damage the environment, by contaminating the soil and water. To avoid this, Philip Morris Mexico actively promotes their collection in order to transform them into useful objects through innovative recycling technologies.
It achieves the above with the help of Ecofilter, a company that has an advanced biotechnological process where it breaks down cigarette butts to cellulose for its transformation into products such as paper, notebooks, pencils and pots.
Philip Morris International (PMI) is leading the transformation in the tobacco industry to create a smoke-free future, to be achieved by replacing cigarettes with smoke-free products for the benefit of adults who would otherwise continue to smoke.
“At Philip Morris International we are confident that, with the right regulation and the participation of society, we will also be able to replace cigarettes with smoke-free products in the coming years,” added Dabrowski.
