A recent tweet from Phil Spencer seems to have confirmed that we will have xCloud for Steam Deck. Since Steam’s portable console was announced, there has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of Xbox Game Pass working on it. But aside from speculation and explanations on how it would be possible if Windows is installed, there has been nothing official so far. However, Spencer’s statements are not yet the official message that we could expect.
It is not the first time that Phil Spencer has spoken favorably about this portable console, the one that he has in his hands, apparently, since the announcement. But the surprise is that this time Phil Spencer has said to play Halo and AOE on Steam Deck it feels very good.

The possibility of having the Xbox catalog on a portable console It is something that certainly seems very provocative to many. But it seems that having a native option for these games is not yet a possibility. However, the fact that it is officially confirmed that there is the possibility of having xCloud for Steam Deck, is something that cannot go unnoticed. Unfortunately, Phil Spencer did not specify what kind of compatibility this Microsoft service will have with the Steam console.
According to Digital Foundry, the Xbox Series S is a true marvel of engineering
On Steam Deck, xCloud could work in a native app or through the browser. It is not clear. But what is clear is that according to Phil Spencer both play Halo and AOE, as the xCloud work great on the Steam console.
Was @valvesoftware this week talking w / Scott, Erik, Gabe about Steam Deck. After having mine most of the week I can say it’s a really nice device. Games with me on the go, screen size, controls all great. Playing Halo and Age feels good, xCloud works well. Congrats SD team. pic.twitter.com/q4hWBvkk85
