Pecco Bagnaia has achieved victory at the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix. The Italian has not had it easy at the beginning. After a bad start, he has had to come back to reach the lead. Once there, nobody has been able to face the power of the Ducati. Fabio Quartararo has been second and Aleix Espargaró has climbed for the fourth time in a row to the third place on the podium. Marc Márquez says goodbye to the competition for the moment with a tenth place.
Fabio Di Giannantonio maintained the first place after the first corner, although he would soon be overtaken by Luca Marini. The ‘rookies’ in the front row tried to open a gap led by Marco Bezzecchi who easily surpassed his teammate. The VR46 Team riders then tried to open a gap with their pursuers, but the group led by Fabio Quartararo would quickly put an end to any idea of escape. In that group was already Pecco Bagania who, after having lost several positions at the start, had known how to squeeze his Ducati to rejoin the first positions.

Overtaking took place between the drivers in front when, with 19 laps to go, Pol Espargaró suffered a strong fall delving into the drama that Repsol Honda is going through this weekend. It was also necessary to regret the falls of the Spanish Joan Mir and Álex Rins a few laps later. Suzuki thus repeated the history of Le Mans and saw how none of his drivers completed the race for the second consecutive Grand Prix. At the same time that it marked the absolute record of the track, Bagnaia took advantage of his speed on the finish straight to become the race leader.
No one would be able to take that position away from him. The one from Turin imposed a very strong pace that Marco Bezzecchi was unable to maintain. The champion of the world Fabio Quartararo soon overtook the #72 to go after the Ducati leader. However, all attempts were in vain and the distance between them kept increasing. Meanwhile, Johann Zarco and Enea Bastianini managed to join the leading group. An effort that would not be rewarded in the case of the Italian who went down shortly after.
Finally, Quartararo’s attempts to close the gap were not enough and Pecco Bagnaia took the victory. Although he had come to have a slight advantage over his pursuers, Áleix Espargaró suffered in the last meters to get his fourth consecutive podium. Johann Zarco had to settle for fourth position ahead of Marco Bezzechi and Luca Marini. Marc Márquez has finished tenth in what will be his last race of the season
