Pecco Bagnaia has uncovered the jar of essences at the Alcañiz circuit and has achieved a brilliant pole position at the Aragón GP of MotoGP. The Ducati rider, with a magnificent last sector, has achieved a best time of 1: 46.322, a record unattainable for the rest of his rivals. In fact, Jack Miller has closed Ducati’s double after finishing at 366 thousandths of your teammate. For its part, Fabio Quartararo finished third and will start in the front row with the pilots of the Italian firm after beating Spaniard Marc Márquez by just 17 thousandths in its last turn.
Q1 started with the four KTM riders as the hegemonic force, more by number than by sensations. Johann Zarco with the Ducati, Álex Márquez with the Honda, Cal Crutchlow with the Yamaha, Maverick Viñales with the Yamaha and Álex Rins with the Suzuki. Not all met expectations and finally it was Johann Zarco who got the fastest time. The Pramac driver signed a time of 1: 47.293 for beat Brad Binder by 51 thousandths. Iker Lecuona could not get enough time on the last lap, thus leaving the Spaniard in fifth row on the grid with Álex Márquez and Cal Crutchlow.
The decisive Q2 was written around three drivers. Marc Márquez as the local hero, Fabio Quartararo as the category leader and Pecco Bagnaia as the luxury guest in the battle for pole position. And the truth is that the Italian pilot was the one who left the best verse about his best prose to become the true protagonist. In fact, Bagnaia got pole with a stratospheric 1: 46.322. The Ducati rider exceeded by 366 thousandths Jack Miller, since the Australian rider ultimately slipped into second position to close Ducati’s double.
Fabio Quartararo had to settle for third position, among other things because the M1 did not have enough drive to beat the GP21 in the last sector. All in all, the MotoGP leader finished 31 thousandths behind Jack Miller, a result that also it was worth him to beat Marc Márquez. The Honda rider will thus lead the second row of the grid in which Jorge Martín and Aleix Espargaró will also be. In third row will be Joan Mir with the Suzuki, Pol Espargaró and Enea Bastianini after the Italian’s debut in Q2. For their part, Johann Zarco, Takaaki Nakagami and Brad Binder will start in the fourth row.
