The Palacio de Cortés will reopen its doors after being closed since 2017. Although now it will bear the name of Regional Museum of the Peoples of Morelos (MPRM).

When will the Palacio de Cortés reopen?
The Palacio de Cortés, located in Cuernavaca, Morelos, will reopen its doors on March 30.
The reopening of the place includes five new permanent rooms and three temporary exhibitions. They will show the natural and cultural diversity of the state of Morelos.
It is important to note that the narrative of the Museum’s exhibits will focus on local and regional histories.
The new route is made up of the rooms:
- Biodiversity.
- Bioculturality.
- Landscape.
- Towns of corn and stone.
- The Olmec phenomenon.
on your own, Victor Hugo Valenciadirector of INAH Morelos Centerclarified that the museographic script is not about “neither the big dates nor the great characters, but the people who have given life and shape to the territory, in the past and in the present”.

Also, the Courteous Palace will open an additional exhibition entitled “The human figure in the Leof-Vinot Collection“.
This sample is made up of 30 anthropomorphic pieces from Mesoamerica and Oasisamericawhich are more than 2,500 years old.
On the other hand, another sample will be presented on the participation of the people of Morelos in the rehabilitation of their patrimony affected by the 2017 earthquake. Regarding “The turns that life gives”, the remaining exhibition, it will address the participation of women, through weaving, in the prehispanic era.
Diego Rivera’s Mural
In this enclosure you can also find the famous, and recently restored, triptych mural by Diego Riveratitled “History of the state of Morelos, Conquest and Revolution“. This work is located on the eastern terrace of the Palacio de Cortés.
Remember that the property is located at Calle Francisco Leyva No. 100, Cuernavaca, Centro, Morelos. It will be open to the general public from March 30, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
