After having analyzed the original game last year, I have had the opportunity to make the Outriders Worldslayer review, which has meant that I spend a good time in the Outriders universe again and thus value the experience I had with the base game against the changes offered by this DLC that not only expands the story but also has some changes to improve quality of life. It is true that online shooting games of this type tend to improve over time. But is Worldslayer really an improvement?
The general rule is that these types of games, over time, add new content to the game after its release. Meanwhile, players can build their characters and find the way they play best. Outriders may not have been that game for most. I myself had a good time alone and with friends playing Outriders, but after a while it was just forgotten to dedicate myself to other games. Worldslayer has brought me back and the result is quite good. Although with some buts.

Outriders Worldslayer Review
People Can Fly has been making adjustments to the game since its launch to give fans more things to do once the story is over. The result of this work is Worldslayer. In game time with the new campaign, you get 6-8 hours or so. But besides this, with this expansion you get new difficulty levels, new skill trees to improve your character, new equipment to earn and new enemies.
Worldslayer starts right at the end of the base game. History, as before, has not ceased to be a pretext to immerse yourself in a game of unbridled action. The anomaly continues to kill people, and the war between human factions continues. And since it’s an expansion of this, so now it’s much worse and if you don’t do something, it’s going to be the end of time for these humans trying to survive on Enoch. There are some details that improve the narrative a bit, but don’t expect much from this.
If you haven’t finished the base game, you can upgrade your character to level 30 to access the expansion content. However, it is much better that you experience the full game, after having purchased the expansion, as the improvements also apply to the entire game.
Starting the new adventure
To start with the content of the expansion, once you have installed the Worldslayer expansion you must talk to Channa, the new quest chain will be triggered. Your character will be upgraded for this expansion, which includes two systems for leveling up: the PAX skill tree and ascension levels. Additionally, your character must be level 30 in order to start the expansion content.
These new skill trees allow you to further specialize your character. Although there are a lot of possible upgrades you can choose from, you only have five PAX points, so you need to think carefully about your playstyle in order to choose the most appropriate abilities and bring out the full potential of your character. Of course you can change your skill tree whenever you want, so it’s easy to play around with different setups.

The Ascension levels offer a larger amount of upgrade points which you can deposit into one of 20 different skins. And perhaps this is what makes it less impressive, since the best ones you get for this tree can be very small. Precisely for this reason they give you up to 200 points to use them. I don’t think it’s their best system, but at least it’s not the main one. It works well if you think long term.
The Aapocalypse
Among the things that this expansion adds, and with which you will find yourself as you play, the one that perhaps represents its greatest achievement and that gives more life to the game is the improvement to the difficulty-reward system. The already known system of world levels changed. This system made it possible for players to have various levels of difficulty (world levels). Leveling up the world gave you better rewards, but it also increased the difficulty of everything in the game. And if things got too tough, you could change it back.
They compare the performance of Outriders on Xbox Series X and PS5
Worldslayer takes this system even further with the new world levels, which are now called categories of aapocalypse, These categories replace the world levels for a total of 40 categories in which you can progress. This system works the same as the world level system. Although with more diversity and also a new class of loot: the classified as apocalypse team. The difference between this and the other gear types is that it has a third mod slot.
The test of Tarya Gratar
As the story progresses, and if you’re not too picky about the depth of a plot, you’ll get satisfying turns of events, with some big reveals and surprises that go deeper into the game’s story. We’d also say that the performances are pretty solid here, slightly less goofy than in the base game, with several new characters that make a good first impression. And with a duration of about 6 hours.
After those 6 hours of history, what is left? Well, there’s the Tarya Gratar test, which is a fairly successful attempt at endgame content. It is a kind of dungeon in which you will have the possibility to choose several paths with different encounters, and even some side areas where you will face more difficult battles but also better rewards: legendary high level armor, legendary boots or legendary helmets. Each of these has its own reward.
Outriders Worldslayer is shown in a new gameplay of 15 minutes
Tarya Gratar has new enemies and bosses that don’t appear anywhere else in the game. These fights require you to use different strategies. Tarya Gratar also includes three great boss fights that have their own mechanics, like capturing and holding a specific spot to make the boss vulnerable, or destroying enemy minions before they can get to the boss and heal it. And it is this content that perhaps stands out the most in this expansion.
conclusion
Definitely, Worldslayer takes all the good things about Outriders and tweaks and improves them. The game feels better, and some might think that maybe it must have felt like that at launch to have made it a more solid game. If you like frenetic action, brutal showdowns, being a machine of destruction, then this is the time to go to Outriders. Regarding the story, I did not find a great improvement over the base game, but I think that is not what you should look for in this game.
What it does offer is quite satisfying gameplay, especially when you chain together several different attacks and deal a lot of damage. It is very satisfying to move around the battlefield, outmaneuvering your enemies. And yes, the graphics are impressive. I think the main flaws of this game are precisely its story and maybe the Ascension tree that gets boring because it has so little impact in the short term. Y Among the best is the new endgame content: the test of Tarya Gratar.
