New platforms for electrified models
Two days before the global launch of the new brands, the Chery Group presented at the Shanghai Autoshow its new mobility vision, called “New Track, New Journey”, with which it seeks to focus on the development of new electrified models to boost the sales in export markets.
The strategy is based on the development of two master platforms, one for electric vehicles and the other for plug-in hybrids (PHEV).
The first one, focused on 100% electric vehicles, promises a range of more than 700 kilometers, a shorter recharging time (150 kilometers in 5 minutes) and lower energy consumption (12 kWh per 100 kilometers).

The PHEV platform will use a 1.5-liter engine, which combined with an electrical system, promises fuel savings of up to 4.2 liters per 100 liter kilometers and a range of up to 1,400 kilometers.

sales target
With these two new platforms, Grupo Chery seeks to expand its presence in the international market, where it currently sells 25% of the models it manufactures. Currently, the Middle East and Russia are the main export markets, while Mexico ranks third.
In 2022, the Chinese manufacturer sold 1.2 million units globally and the goal is to double this number by 2030 with the introduction of Omoda and Jaecoo.
In Mexico, Grupo Chery has marketed some 14,000 models of its Chirey brand, since its launch in July 2022. The brand closed the first quarter of the year with around 3.2% of the market share. With the launch of Omoda and Jaecoo, the Chinese automaker expects to gain a 5% share.
