Social networks and digital platforms have been registering various updates to their interfaces to improve the experience they provide to their users. Google recently announced that it is about to release emoji reactions for Google Docs.
According to data from Statista, Google today offers a multitude of online products and services, where the search engine Google or Google Search has established itself as the main product of the company, the multinational also has advertising services, browsers (Chrome), editing programs, statistical monitoring tools or geolocation applications.
Likewise, the technology firm is one of the most sought after, where 98 percent of Internet users surveyed in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico stated that they would use Google to search the internet in 2020.
The new function of Google Docs and emojis
Google announced that it is about to launch reactions with emojis for Google Docs, through its blog, the company detailed that among its latest releases is the function of reacting with emojis, and gender-neutral options are included, with different skin tones, symbols, among others that exceed those available on other platforms.
Likewise, the search engine explained that these options will be very useful, since Google Docs allows you to do jobs collaborative where several people can edit the same document online.
“The new emoji reactions bring a less formal and alternative option to comment and express opinions about the content of a document,” Google said.
But the company also highlights and explained through a post on its blog that even users can react to words and not just paragraphs, just by selecting the desired text so that the reaction option appears represented by a yellow smiley placed below the Add comment function and above Suggest edits.
In that same order, Google pointed out that the reactions in Docs will be by default, which means that they will appear for everyone equally and that cannot be disabled in the configuration.
“This update will be released gradually this April and will be available to all Google Workspace users, in G Suite Basic and Business and users with personal Google accounts (Google Accounts)”, they indicate.
For its part, the Google Keyboard or Gboard for mobile devices also received an update with news between which stands out especially that it includes twice as many emojis as before in the suggestions.
They explain that Gboard incorporated emojis in its suggestions, so that when users write a word that corresponds to an emoji, one of the three suggestions shown corresponds to one of these designs so that the user can select one more quickly.
The update is now available for all users who prefer to use GBoard, it only requires having the most recent version of the application installed on your mobile devices.
