The new bet of EA Sports to generate more content seems to be in women’s soccer, which has grown up to 146 percent.
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) estimates that, worldwide, there are 13.36 million girls and women who play soccer.
Recent data reveals that, in 2021, the video game industry would have generated revenues of 180.3 billion dollars.
FIFA 23 is still in the news and, despite the fact that there is still more than a month to go before it goes on the market, several details have been revealed about it, such as the fact that there will be female referees in the video game.
The 2022/2023 season began in world football and, with it, a new commitment in the world of video games, an industry that continues to grow year after year.
Signature data Newzoo reveal that, in 2021, the video game industry would have generated revenues of 180 thousand 300 million dollarswhich means a growth in spending by consumers of 1.4 percent more than last year.
On the other hand, in Mexico, information from The CIU indicates that the gamer community is growing. According to what it details, by 2020 the number of gamers Mexicans was close to 72.3 million, a figure that represents an increase of 5.5 percent compared to 2019.
FIFA 23, in addition to players, will include more female referees
The panorama for the industry is still very broad, especially when, from different trenches, more is appealed and sought for the participation of women in said field.
As an example of this, it was recently announced that EA Sports would begin to integrate more women in the next title of the FIFA saga, FIFA 23, adding two complete leagues: the Barclays Women’s Super League (England) and Division 1 Arkema (France)which, in total, adds up to 24 teams available to FIFA users and fans.
Now, that’s not all, since in a recent trailer it was revealed that the video game will have more female referees. This had already been done from some previous titles, but the company is looking to expand it to two more game modes:
According to data from the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA), it is estimated that, worldwide, there are 13.36 million girls and women who play football organized, a figure that is expected to increase to 60 million by 2026.
Also, a study published by FIFA announced that there are 80,545 referees, that is, 10 percent of the total number of referees (men and women).
Let us also remember that The FIFA Women’s World Cup managed to attract a television audience of 1.12 billion people around the world and bring more than 1.1 million spectators to the stadiums of France.
Taking the latter into account, it is clear that the participation of women in football continues in crescendo and, above all, one of the pending tasks of an industry historically dominated by men.
