Nissan’s division in Europe has just presented the advance of a new electric van that it will sell in this market in 2022. A very short video in which the Japanese brand reproduces its main quality of zero emissions, in addition to the shapes of the silhouette.
New advance from Nissan, and how could it be otherwise, it is a new electric. The division of Europe has presented a teaser in which you can barely see some silhouettes based on the rays of electricity that it will use as propulsion, pointing to a new model in the light commercial segment.
A surprise, since the brand has been more than sparing in words, and has not provided any details. However, there are only two possibilities that the manufacturer may have in hand, since there is only one light electric vans that it sells in the Old Continent. A completely new model or a new generation of the Nissan e-NV200, which accumulates nothing less than seven years in the market since its commercial launch in 2014, also coinciding with the renewal period.

What’s more, due to the shapes shown in the preview, the format matches this electric van which will share the assembly line of the French Renault factory in Maubeuge with the new generation of the Renault Kangoo and Kangoo ZE, as well as the equivalent with the Japanese brand’s seal, the Nissan NV250, also assuming the production of the e-NV200 after the closure of the Barcelona plant, which powered by the first Nissan LEAF.
A model that is available both in a variant intended for professionals with paneled sides, two vertical rear doors and one sliding right side, and also with a glazed surface and vertically opening tailgate for passenger transport, sold as e-NV200 Evalia. A model considered fundamental in the European market if we stick to the increasingly aggressive competition in the commercial segment, and especially in electric vans.
Just see that Toyota is getting more bang and putting market leaders in this category on the ropes with the new ProAce range, in which it is expanding the offer with zero-emission versions, and will soon also add an option powered by hydrogen. We expect more details from Nissan in the coming weeks.
