Last July it was announced that Nintendo had acquired Dynamo Pictures, Inc, and planned to rename this company Nintendo Pictures. Now, today it has been revealed that this process has been successfully completedand there is already an official site that gives us a glimpse of the future of this division.
Currently, the official site of Nintendo Pictures is now available. Here it is mentioned that the Big N plans to use its vast catalog of properties to create audiovisual productions. This is what is mentioned about it:
“Nintendo Pictures Co., Ltd. is a video production company owned by Nintendo Co., Ltd.
Our goal is for consumers around the world to learn about Nintendo characters through video, as well as create unique videos that will remain in their memories forever.
To that end, each and every one of our employees will always think about what our customers around the world will find interesting, and we will work hard to create an organization that can continue to grow by engaging in interesting video production.
We will continue to challenge ourselves to continue providing unique and amazing images to customers around the world, transcending generations and eras.”
At the moment there are no details about the future of Nintendo Pictures, but with the message they have on their official site, it seems that a very interesting future awaits us. On related issues, Nintendo shares fall 90%. Similarly, a former employee of the company reports unionization attempts at Nintendo of America.
Editor’s Note:
The idea of creating your own division of this type sounds quite interesting. While many might expect these efforts to be destined for cinematics in their games, it’s very likely that we’ll also see shorts and movies that manage to offer us new approaches to the properties we love so much.
