Nintendo began as a Japanese video game company that expanded to the United States and Europe in the 1980s and 1990s. And although the Latin American market was always present (let’s not forget the hugely popular Club Nintendo magazine), now reaches a new level with Twitter accounts in Spanish and Portuguese.
The video game company announced the launch of two Twitter accounts: @NintendoLatam Y @NintendoBrazil. This covers fans throughout Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina, passing through Brazil.
A warm welcome from the upper echelons of Nintendo
“Welcome to the official account of Nintendo Latin America!” The company wrote in its tweet, with an image of Mario. “A new space to inform you in your language about the news that Nintendo will have available in Latin America.”

Doug Bowser, the president of Nintendo of America, who is known to also speak Spanish, also introduced the new accounts for the Latin American market.
“Welcome, @NintendoLatam, here we go with all the news for the region!”, the hierarch wrote on his Twitter account, @thetruebowser.
The one from Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) was, since 2007, the only Twitter account for the entire continent. He currently has 12.3 million followers.
