Today The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask arrived at the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, the Nintendo 64 game scheduled for this month that also arrives together with a patch to the console emulator, improving its performance once again. With the latest update, Nintendo finally fixed the fog and with it the water temple in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
When the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack arrived, the company was strongly criticized for the quality of the emulation of Nintendo 64, because although in the past they had not had problems in the virtual console, this time the quality left something to be desired. However, Doug Bowser said that Nintendo took the feedback very seriously and in the following months the emulation has been slowly improving.

When Banjo-Kazooie came to Nintendo Switch Online at the end of January, it did so with a patch that slightly improved the emulation of Nintendo 64. Among the improvements back then, we saw that the water in the water temple now looked correct but the fog; with today’s update the fog finally looks like it shouldthough that’s not to say that Nintendo 64 emulation is now perfect on Nintendo Switch.
However, this does not mean that the emulation of Nintendo 64 is perfect, as some users have pointed out that there are still problems to fix in other games like Dr. Mario 64 and Yoshi’s Story. According to reports from Yakumono, these games continue to have transition and transparency problems, but at least the fog has been fixed.
