Nintendo can’t make sequels and remakes that fans ask for

On Tuesday of this week a question and answer session was held between the investors of Nintendo and its board of directors, during which an investor asked the company if it had plans to launch remakes or new installments of forgotten series, such as F-Zero, Wario Land and Baten Kaitos.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa responded to the investor’s question by saying that they cannot make all the remakes and sequels of games that fans ask for, but he says he is grateful and appreciates the expectations of fans for their games. On the other hand, Shinya Takahashi said that they are always considering how to make new games and remakes.

It had already been reported that a shareholder asked the company for remakes, but Nintendo has already published the transcript of the 82nd Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, so we can see the answers clearly. The first to respond was President Furukawa, who said that it’s just not realistic to make all the games that fans want.

It’s realistically difficult to develop new games and remakes, including sequels, for every Nintendo game people ask for, but we’re very grateful and appreciate our fans’ expectations for our games.”

On the other hand, general manager Shinya Takahashi said that they are always considering how to develop new games and remakes that can be enjoyed by many gamers, but currently they cannot talk about their plans to create possible remakes of specific games.

It is believed that the next remake that Nintendo will publish will be Metroid Prime, as the rumor has been circulating for a long time that Nintendo has already finished its development and they are retaining the game. However, so far there has been no official confirmation of this or other remakes of classic games.
