Nick Cassidy has proven to be the fastest driver in the New York ePrix, but will not start on pole as in the day yesterday. The strong accident suffered in the first race forced the Envision Racing team to change the batteries and the radiator of their car, Nick receiving a 30 position penalty that they place at the bottom of the grill. Despite losing the final to Cassidy, the Portuguese António Félix Da Costa will start first in the second heat of the New York ePrix with the car of the DS Techeetah team.
The second classification of the weekend began with great surprises. Edo Mortara suffered from a problem and will start from the last positions, since he could not sign a minimally competitive time. Neither did Jean-Eric Vergne after hitting the protections with the right rear of your car. With both out of the game, Group A was resolved in favor of Sérgio Sette Câmara with the Penske. Nick Cassidy, Nyck de Vries and Alexander Sims they got the other three tickets for the quarter round. In Group B, the situation was antagonistic.

The other two contenders for the title managed to pass round. The fastest time went to Lucas Di Grassi, as the Brazilian narrowly edged out Mitch Evans. With more trouble, Stoffel Vandoorne slipped into the qualifying rounds after finishing fourth, in the shadow of António Félix Da Costa. The New Zealander Evans and the Belgian Vandoorne achieved a much better position than their rivals for the title going to the quarterfinals, round in which finally Lucas Di Grassi was not going to be there when he lost his best lap. André Lotterer took over from him.
André Lotterer faced Sérgio Sette Câmara in the first duel of quarters, with victory of the Porsche driver. For its part, Cassidy led Stoffel Vandoorne by a tenth at the second junction, relegating the Belgian to fifth place finish. In the third confrontation the victory was for António Félix Da Costa after beating reigning champion Nyck de Vries, while Alexander Sims managed to beat Mitch Evansrubbing through the Jaguar driver against the guards.
Nick Cassidy and António Félix Da Costa won their semifinal duels to star in the last great battle. Nick Cassidy prevailed, but the penalty of 30 places that he carries for changing components of the car has taken him to the last position, from which he will start before also doing a ‘Drive Through’ in the race. In front, António Félix Da Costa will start first with Alexander Sims next to him in the front row. André Lotterer and Sérgio Sette Câmara will be in second, while the fight for the title of the Formula E is in third, as Stoffel Vandoorne and Mitch Evans start together in fifth and sixth position.
