In great news for the entire Call of Duty gaming community, following the incredible conclusion of the 2022 Call of Duty: League season on Championship Sunday, Activision released some important information for the future of Call of Duty: League. Duty, including the realization of a new event known as Call of Duty: Next, as well as the dates for the Open Beta of Modern Warfare II.
Regarding Call of Duty: Next, this will be a franchise-focused event to be held and broadcast on September 15, 2022. Here are some of the announcements and aspects that all viewers can expect from the event:
- What the impending future of Call of Duty will look like, including many more details on Modern Warfare II, information on the next Call of Duty: Warzone, and more on the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone (also known as Project Aurora).
- Full reveal of Modern Warfare II multiplayer.

Detailed Modern Warfare II beta dates
The Modern Warfare II Open Beta will be free to play on all platforms, and players who have pre-ordered the game digitally, in retail stores, or have received Beta codes will get early access.
Please note that Beta codes are tied to your Activision account and are platform independent, meaning you can access the Beta on the hardware of your choice. The Modern Warfare II Beta is split into two playable weekends, and early access is available to those with retail or digital pre-orders:
Weekend One: First on PlayStation(1)
The first weekend of the Beta will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and is scheduled to run from Friday, September 16 at 10am PT through Tuesday, September 20. This weekend is for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players only. You can access the Beta without the need for the PlayStation Plus subscription service.
PlayStation Early Access: Those who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, or received a Beta code, can start playing the Beta on Friday, September 16 at 10am PT.
PlayStation Open Beta: The remainder of the weekend, from Sunday, September 18 at 10am PT through Tuesday, September 20, will be available to all PlayStation players, regardless of pre-order status.
Weekend Two: All Platforms (Crossplay)(1)
The second Beta Weekend is available on all console and PC platforms, and is scheduled to run from Thursday, September 22 at 10am PT through Monday, September 26. Cross-play will be active, allowing the entire community to have fun together, no matter what hardware they play on.
PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5: It doesn’t matter if you pre-ordered the game or not, Weekend Two is a free open beta for all PlayStation 4 and 5 owners.
Xbox and PC Early Access: Those who pre-ordered the game for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or pre-purchased it for PC through Blizzard Battle.net or Steam can start playing the Beta on Thursday, September 22 at 10am PT. Xbox Live Gold is required for Xbox players, and PC players must have a Battle.net or Steam account.
Xbox and PC Open Beta: The remainder of the weekend, from Saturday, September 24 at 10am PT through Monday, September 26, will be available to Xbox and PC players, regardless of preorder status.
