It’s about a multichannel amplifier with capacity to feed up to 12 speakers simultaneously, offering each of them 50 watts if they have an impedance of 8 ohm and up to 90 watts if it is 4 ohm.
For this use Class D individual stages with passive heatsinks, thus avoiding the need for fans to cool the inside of the equipment and thereby eliminating the possible noise emitted into the room.
At the rear we find the power outputs to the speakers, in Phoenix format, as well as one RCA analog input for each channel, two digital optical inputs, two other digital coaxial and volume controls to adjust the power of each speaker separately.
McIntosh has incorporated its already classic technologies to protect drivers such as Power Guard to avoid overvoltages and Sentry Monitor so as not to have short circuits. We also have a 12 volt trigger and connectors to link other additional external amplifiers.
Price and availability
The McIntosh MI1250 will go on sale next November 2021 for a price that will be around 5,000 euros.
