One of the sagas most remembered by fans, but most forgotten by Capcom is that of Onimusha. During the 2000s, the Japanese company launched us into the japan feudal era to live adventures full of action, terrifying beings and even time travel.
We haven’t heard from Samanosuke Akechi, the protagonist of the works, for more than a decade, but now we have a ray of hope. Netflix and Capcom they have unveiled that we will receive an anime adaptation with the same name as the video games; simply, Onimusha.
For now, we have some images at our disposal so that we can get an idea of what the final product will look like. In this case we will use 3D CGI characters while backgrounds will be hand drawnas in the old days of the industry.
In charge of the series will be Shinya Sugai, while the chief director will be Takashi Miike. The animation studio in charge of bringing the production to life will be Sublimation (Dragon’s Dogma) and the main actor will be Toshihiro Mifune, who will serve as a model for Musashi Miyamoto.
Indeed, this time we will see what awaits the protagonist of Onimusha: Blade Warriors, the multiplayer work of the franchise. “At the beginning of the Edo period, Musashi is no longer a young man. He leaves with the legendary Oni Gauntlet to defeat Genma,” reads the synopsis. For now he has to wait, because we do not have any release date.
