Netflix buys a new studio and continues its interest in the gamer market.
Now, the platform has acquired the studio Boss Fight Entertainment, being the third after buying Night School and Next Games.
Yesterday, the platform announced the inclusion of three new titles to its still small video game catalog: Into the Dead 2: Unleashed, This Is a True Story and Shatter Remastered
Netflix is not only focusing on its traditional content (series and movies), but has been delving into the video game market for some time.
There is no doubt that the platform is the leader in the market, its more than 200 million global subscribers prove it, in addition to the series that, in recent years, have gone viral, such as Squid Game (The Squid Game ), La Casa de Papel, The Tinder Swindler (Tinder Swindler), among others.
2021 was a year of contradictions for Netflix, because, although Squid Game made it win more than four million subscribers, the reality is that, in general, it was not the best year for the platform.
Statista data proves that 2020 was a record year for the platform, gaining 36.6 million new subscribers, just when billions of people were confined to their homes; however, 2021 registered just 18.2 million new customers in the world, that is, 50 percent less than the previous record year.
Despite this, we are talking about a time when Netflix continues to be the leading streaming service, well above Disney Plus, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount Plus, among others.
Netflix focuses on video games
Now, part of the strategies that Netflix has been drawing up to reach new consumers has to do with its drive to reach the gamer market with the launch of its own video game platform.

The first two will be ready from next Tuesday, while for the third there is still no specific date for its launch, although, yes, this speaks of the effort that Netflix is making to reach the wide gaming community around the world.
Now, as part of that strategy, Netflix has acquired the study Boss Fight Entertainmentbeing this the third video game studio that the platform buys after Night School and more recently NextGames.
