Promised is debt and Netflix has fulfilled. Starting this week, in 12 different countries including Brazil and Mexico, the basic plan with ads will be part of the offer for subscribers of the streaming platform.
“Basic with Ads will launch just six months after we first announced the option of a lower priced ad plan”, the company wrote in a official statement.
Called Basic with Ads, it will cost 6.99 dollars in the United States and is available from the morning of this Thursday, November 3.
The price of each country is converted to the respective local currencies. The 12 nations that are beginning to enjoy this new plan, in addition to the USA, are Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom.
What’s new in the basic plan with ads
According to Netflix, this new plan maintains the wide variety of great TV shows and movies, the personalized viewing experience, and is available on a wide range of TVs and mobile devices.
It differs from the Basic, Standard and Premium plans in details such as video quality, up to 720p/HD, an average of four to five minutes of ads per houra limited number of movies and TV shows will not be available due to licensing restrictions and no possibility of downloads.

The company highlighted: “We’re confident that with Netflix starting at $6.99 a month, we now have a price and plan for every fan.”.
