NetEase continues to increase its portfolio of studios and this time it is betting on a studio that is established within the industry and has several ambitious projects.
The growth of Quantic Dream has been exponential in recent years, after spending more than a decade under the support of Sony, David Cage’s studio has managed to be independent and even dedicates part of its capital to carry out the tasks of publisher of smaller projects. David Cage has explained the reasons that have led the study to accept this acquisition by NetEase. The French creative affirms that during the 25 years that the studio has been in existence, they have received different purchase proposals from other companies, the reason that led them to reject all of them was the objective of maintaining their independence. It seems that this agreement with NetEase ensures they have creative independence to QuanticDream.
Quantic Dream’s independence has led them to be able to support projects like Under The Waves.
