According to a survey carried out in the United States, health professionals are at the head of caffeine addicts and, among workers in all areas, 32% said that you need a coffee to start the working day and 43% assured that they feel less productive if you don’t drink coffee.
The survey was commissioned by the chain Dunkin ‘Donutswhich entrusted the consultant CareerBuilding a scientific study among 3,600 employees to clarify their relationship with coffee.
Nescafe; the brand of coffee that doctors prefer, but why?
But, in the case of Mexican doctors, their preferred brand is Nescafe.
According to César, a year they consume about 35,000 million cups of coffee in Mexico, of which more than 30% they correspond to consumption outside the home that is divided into different channels and, due to the closure of consumption centers, the consumer has migrated within the home.
On the other hand, in our country, the consumption specifically of soluble coffee is dominated by the preference towards the brand Nescafe, 6 out of 10 cups that are drunk in the country are from the firm. In fact, during 2019, the three best-selling brands of soluble coffee in the country were: Nescafé, with a 32% share; Dolca, also from Nestlé, with 6% and Café Legal, from Sabormex, with 4.7%, according to data from Euromonitor.
Benefits
Among the benefits of coffee intake is the reduction of the risk of develop liver diseases such as cirrhosis, fibrosis, liver cancer, and hepatitis C. In a study published in the journal ‘Gastroenterology’ they state that higher levels of coffee consumption are related to lower risks of incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma.
Thus, another US study published in the journal ‘Hepatology’ states that drinking coffee, regardless of its caffeine content, is associated with lower levels of abnormal liver enzymes, meaning it can help protect the liver.
Regarding fibrosis, in the research published in ‘Liver International’ 782 adults were analyzed, among whom 24% suffered from diabetes, 79% suffered from non-alcoholic fatty liver and 25% had advanced fibrosis coffee drinkers with low insulin resistance were shown to be less likely to develop advanced fibrosis.
Harmful effects of abuse
The effects produced by the consumption of coffee they are not the same for people who take it regularly as those who take it sporadically, since the body gets used to caffeine.
Excessive consumption can cause sleep disorders such as insomnia, nervousness, tremors and tachycardia. In the cases of sick people or who are taking medication, caffeine can be counterproductive.
