Grupo Financiero Inbursa, owned by Mexican businessman Carlos Slim, announced that will not continue in the Banamex purchase process after having submitted a non-binding offer by the bank.
In a statement sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange, Inbursa appreciates having been invited to participate in the process carried out by Citigroup in relation to the potential sale of its consumer banking and business banking businesses in Mexico.
“Inbursa confirms that, After their non-binding proposal for the acquisition of said businesses, the parties mutually agreed that Inbursa will not continue in the following stages of the process.”, indicated the financial group.
Inbursa added that they will accelerate their technological development, “throughyes as our high growth potential and market share in Mexicoand we will continue with our offer of differentiated products in favor of our clients, with the best service and solidity that characterizes us since our foundation in 1965”.
