One of the old electric car myths collapses before they reach the whole world.
From the beginning of time, electric cars have loaded with the slab of autonomy, to the point that many, erroneously, consider them urban vehicles, only to circulate around the city.
Tesla, Volkswagen and other companies have been ending this myth, launching electric vehicles with a real 400 or 500 km of autonomy.
But a sedan born in China is the first that can boast of autonomy millennial. Zhiji L7 is the first electric car for sale with 1,000 km of autonomy. Here you can see it in detail, in the gallery:
As our colleague Mario Herráez tells us about Auto Bild, the Zhiji L7 It is the result of a joint venture from Chinese giants such as SAIC, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech and Alibaba, owners of the popular AliExpress store.
It stands out for its battery system. The standard version has a capacity of 93 kWh, with which it reaches 615 kilometers of autonomy. But a 118 kWh premium option is available, which is the one that surpasses the magic 1,000 kilometers without recharging.
It is also one of the few vehicles compatible with wireless charging of 11 kW of power, which allows you to achieve 80 kilometers of range in an hour, without using cables.
But the Zhiji L7 does not shine only for its autonomy. It is also an extremely powerful electric vehicle.
Its electric motor reaches a power of 540 CV and a maximum torque of 700 Nm, spectacular data that allow you go from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.9 seconds.
As if that were not enough, it is equipped with autonomous driving, although it still cannot be used in most countries. It uses a lidar, 12 ultrasonic radars, 12 cameras and 5 millimeter wave radars. But we don’t know what his level of driverless driving is.
The Zhijo L7 can now be reserved in China, although it will not be in the hands of buyers until mid 2022. In all this time, it is unlikely that another electric car will be launched that exceeds 1,000 km of autonomy.
Little by little, as has happened with mobile phones, electric cars are leaving their limitations behind. Although there is still one last stumbling block: the price. According to FIAT, they will begin to be worth the same as those of combustion in 2025.
Less is left…
