The Need for Speed franchise is one of the most important in the video game industry in terms of the car genre. After a year in which there has been no delivery of the main saga, and two since a completely new title arrived, rumors about the return of Need for Speed this year have been numerous in recent weeks.
Without going any further, just a few days ago 2 images and the map of what will be the new installment of the franchise were leaked, and now new information related to it has appeared. Although there was talk that Criterion Games would be in charge of developing the game, it has finally been revealed that Need for Speed 2022 studio will be Codemasters Cheshire.
Need for Speed 2022 studio revealed
This revelation has come through a LinkedIn post, where EA’s senior recruiter, Peter Johnsonexplained that the team is looking for “an experienced producer to deliver the future of the Need for Speed franchise”.
Codemasters Cheshire will team up with Criterion Games to create the future of Need for Speed. Beginning with the next Need for Speed title and then expanding to future-oriented initiatives, Codemasters Cheshire will work with Criterion on creative, technical and feature execution in service of the vision outlined in the Need for Speed strategy.
There is still no official announcement of the new installment of Need for Speed, but everything seems to indicate that it will arrive before April 1, 2023, at which time the fiscal year of the current year 2022 ends.
