Today we are going to Barcelona to learn about a reform in a new construction apartment carried out by Coblonal Interiorismo. Although the original distribution of this house located in Sant Just Desvern was quite successful, its owners wanted to improve its comfort so that it would be more in line with their lifestyle.
To achieve this, Coblonal has opted for opening up spaces, for the treatment of natural light, and for the design and production of custom-made furniture. White, oak wood, natural fiber fabrics and some black furniture elements help to create a welcoming, fresh and contemporary atmosphere.
A large open space with the kitchen opening to the living room
The transformation project of this house contemplated pull down partitions to unify the day area, made up of the dining room, the kitchen, the living room, and a terrace where you can enjoy the good weather.
Although the original space was not very generous, the new layout allows for a large dining table, made to measure, made up of a metal structure and an oak veneered top. This table allows to receive guests.
In addition to the black chairs, a bench made to measure, attached to the wall, serves as a seat for eating and offers extra storage, an excellent solution for making the most of space.
On the other hand, the Island of cooking It offers great comfort for cooking but also an area to eat and chat informally, thanks to a bar with stools.
Behind the island, cabinets from floor to ceiling without handles are camouflaged, like another white wall. This type of chameleon cabinets is a solution that has also been used on the walls of the corridor that lead to the night area.
With this reform also the light has been made to flow from the terrace to the rooms. The living and reading area is comfortable and enjoys the clarity of the terrace, which is now much more accessible.
The sofa has upholstered arms and back, while the Fred armchair, designed by Jaime Hayon for the Nordic firm Fritz Hansen, adds a touch of sophistication and elegance.
Versatility: Panel doors to divide children’s rooms
In the reform, Coblonal Interiorismo has chosen to replace the partition that divided the two individual rooms with a large sliding door. When this door is open, a large play area is created. And when the door closes, the two rooms are separated again.
