NASA has announced who will be the group of thirteen astronauts who will soon travel to Mars under its new program called Artemis.
Among these are men and women and their nationalities are 11 AmerTicans and two Canadians, who graduated from the hard training last Friday and have now been chosen to travel to the red planet.
The team of experts will join NASA and most likely their first mission is to travel to the Moon during 2024 under the new travel program announced by the agency called Artemis.
NASA and Artemis
Recall that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration announced some time ago this new space program, with which it hopes to accomplish two important missions, you take astronauts to the Moon and also to Mars.
The first is expected to be specified by NASA during the year 2025 when it is also expected to put a woman on the terrestrial satellite for the first time. A similar case occurs with the trip to Mars, which should be made between 2032 and 2035.
The thirteen new astronauts chosen by the agency had to pass hard physical and psychological tests, where the main focus was a human exploration on Mars, where the climatic conditions are extreme and they must endure hard tests in order to survive on the red planet.
The awards ceremony was held in Houston, Texas, having a historical connotation, as it is the first “graduation” of astronauts to be made public. There was a record of applications for this application since according to the data collected in total there were 18,000 thousand applicants to perform the tests.
In the chosen group there are 6 women and 7 men, who received a striking awards ceremony where they could meet each one, a situation that is not usually very common in the Agency.
Finally, for now, NASA will continue working to perfect this new space project with which complex tests have been proposed since once again taking a group of human beings to the Moon and Mars will require all the efforts of its scientists.
