A few weeks ago, Margot Robbie hinted that Disney had completely lost interest in producing its spin-off of Pirates of the Caribbean. However, the project might not be dead after all, according to the franchise’s lead producer.
In interview with ColliderJerry Bruckheimer revealed that, although they have decided to give priority to another production of Pirates of the Caribbean that was in development alongside Robbie’s movie, that doesn’t mean the spin-off female is no longer a possibility.
“I think that script [Piratas del caribe con Margot Robbie] it will be finished at a certain time later,” Bruckheimer stated. “We developed two different stories for ‘pirates’ and the other one is moving forward first, so that’s what we’re working on, to try to get a movie made.”

It was in the summer of 2020 when it was revealed that Disney was working on two projects to resurrect the multi-billion dollar franchise. On the one hand, a spin-off female with Margot Robbie; on the other, a kind of reboot of the main saga with veteran franchise writer Ted Elliott and Craig Mazin, creator of Chernobyl and the upcoming television adaptation of The Last of Us.
Perhaps it’s due to a lack of clarity in the communication between Jerry Bruckheimer’s team and Margot Robbie, but the Oscar-nominated actress told Vanity Fair in mid-November last year about its production of Pirates of the Caribbean:
“We had an idea and we were developing it for a while, a long time ago, to have a little bit more of a female lead – not an all-female lead, just a little bit of a different story – which we thought would have been really cool, but I think they They don’t want to do it.”
According to Jerry Bruckheimer, the film Pirates of the Caribbean Margot Robbie’s isn’t dead, but it’s also not a priority right now. Will they clear up the misunderstanding? would you like to see that spin-off feminine?
