For its part, the underemployed population, that is to say, the one that can work more hours, but finds it impossible to do so, was 4.3 million people and represented a rate of 7.3% of the employed population, a percentage lower than that of the first quarter of 2022 (9%).
The Economically Active Population (PEA) of the country was 60.1 million people, two million more than in the first quarter of the previous year. The EAP represented 60.2% of the population aged 15 and over.
The unemployment rate stood at 2.7%.
Of the total PEA, 58.5 million people said they were employed in the first three months of the year. With which unemployment was reduced by 0.3 percentage points, in relation to the last quarter of 2022.
