It’s unclear when we’ll be able to see the game in action, but it’s now being said that there will be a multiplayer beta test period and three editions of the game to purchase.
Although not officially announced by Activision, the three editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have been leaked on the Internet thanks to the files found in Call of Duty: Vanguard. As with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Vanguard, fans will be able to purchase either a standard edition of the game or a cross-gen bundle. There will also be a Vault Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the contents of which have also been leaked online.
According to leaks, the Vault Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will include the game’s first Battle Pass and 50 tier skips, a Task Force 141 Operator Pack including Operators Ghost, Soap, Price and Farah, the FJX Cinder Weapons Vault, 10 hours of double XP and double XP of weapons, the Ghost Legacy Pack that includes 12 Operator skins and 10 weapon blueprints, and early access to open beta.
Early access to the open beta will also be a bonus for those who pre-purchase the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 cross-gen bundle. The leak indicates that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta will be available first to PS4 and PS5 players, so those playing on PC and Xbox will have to wait an undetermined amount of time to get their hands on the game. Previous Call of Duty betas have also been PlayStation exclusives, so this is unlikely to surprise anyone.
