Well, well, well: we already have a date for the open beta from the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Or rather, dates, since, as in more than one previous installment, said test phase will take place on two different weekends.
It will be the perfect opportunity to try Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II before its official launch on October 28 and, given the cross-play nature of the game through identification with an Activision account, it can be tested on any of the platforms for which the game will be released.
We tell you the dates and contents of the open beta of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Open Beta: Dates and Times
As I said before, this open testing phase will take place over two weekends. Additionally, those who have pre-ordered the game both physically and digitally will have access two days before the beta opens to everyone. Taking this into account, the dates are as follows:
First weekend: exclusive to PlayStation
- From September 16 to 17 from 7:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time) – Early access for those who have pre-ordered the game or have a code for the beta for PlayStation consoles.
- From September 18 to 20 – Open beta for all PlayStation users.
Second weekend: open beta for everyone and with cross-play
- From September 22 to 23 from 7:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time) – Early access for those who have pre-ordered the game or have a beta code for any platform (PC, Xbox, PlayStation).
- From September 24 to 26 – Open beta for all users on all platforms.
It will not be necessary to have PlayStation Plus to enjoy the beta. Instead, yes it will be necessary to have Xbox Gold to play on Xbox. On PC it will work with both a Steam account and a Battle.net account.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Beta Contents
Regarding the modes and maps that we are going to be able to test during this beta, Infinity Ward has confirmed that the experience will not remain only in the main 6v6 mode, but that they will add a good handful of modes and maps of different dimensions.
The only map they expressly mention is Marina Bay Grand Prixa 6v6 map set, as its name suggests, on an urban racing circuit.
Of course, all unlocked content will be preserved for the final game.
Call of Duty Next: date and announcements
The next September 15 will take place call of duty:next, the official presentation event of the game, where the following will be announced:
