With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Vanguard, Activision waited until the end of the summer to properly reveal the games. However, things are different for 2022’s Call of Duty, which has been revealed to be none other than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
Activision has wasted no time hyping up 2022’s Call of Duty, revealing the logo, release date, box art, and more. However, Activision has yet to reveal gameplay or a trailer for Modern Warfare 2but that could change in the very near future.
According to Charlie Intel, the video of the release date of Modern Warfare 2 includes an interesting spray paint in a container. Written in neon green, the paint reads “J – 8 – 22”. Although it could be a coincidence, it seems like a pretty obvious clue that Modern Warfare 2’s release date will be June 8, meaning fans will be able to see the game in a matter of weeks.
The fact that reputed leaker Tom Henderson already said that the filing date of Modern Warfare 2 would be June 8 lends more credence to this theory. Between Henderson’s claims and the evidence found in the Modern Warfare 2 release date video, it seems very likely that the reveal will take place on June 8, although Activision has yet to officially confirm this.
When Modern Warfare 2 is revealed to the public, it will be interesting to see what exactly is shown. As always, this year’s Call of Duty game is expected to be made up of multiple components. Most likely, there will be a story-driven single player campaign, not forgetting the franchise’s already proven multiplayer, as well as a third game mode of some kind. Based on leaks, it’s believed that the June 8 reveal, if it happens, will focus on the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.
