Today the financial results of ActivisionBlizzard during the first quarter of fiscal year 2022, which ended on March 31, and the company revealed some of its plans for the rest of the year. Among those plans is launching the sequel to COD: Modern Warfare and introducing the new Call of Duty: Warzone.
In a post on its investor page, Activision Blizzard said that Call of Duty generated less revenue than during the same period last year, as Call of Duty Vanguard did not sell as much as Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. On the other hand, Call of Duty: Mobile earnings didn’t change much.
The Call of Duty teams delivered substantial gameplay improvements to Vanguard and Warzone in the first quarter… This year’s Call of Duty is a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, the most successful Call of Duty to date, and will be the ultimate experience. most advanced in franchise history.”

Activision Blizzard also said that they will show Call of Duty: Warzone 2 this year, but it seems that the free-to-play will come later, contrary to what some leakers claimed. Not much is known about COD: Warzone 2, but it is believed that it will be exclusive to the new generation of consoles.
Activision continues to rapidly expand its Call of Duty development resources during the first quarter. Their growing teams are focused on delivering even more engaging content for the PC and console community, as well as expanding Warzone to mobile platforms.”

Speaking of Call of Duty, Activision Blizzard reiterated that they plan to bring Warzone to mobile devices, as reported last month. This new Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is being developed natively for mobile devices, so it is not a port of the current version.
