The development process of the new Mitsubishi L200 2024 continues. Mitsubishi is working on the renovation of its popular pick-up. A model that will be updated to continue rivaling, among others, the Ford Ranger. The new L200 has been hunted in broad daylight on the roads of southern Europe.
Mitsubishi continues to work at full capacity in the development process of the new generation of its very interesting pick-up. Earlier this year there was a surprise sighting in northern Europe. Our spy photographers tracked down a test mule from the new Mitsubishi L200. A sighting that revealed that the development of the sixth generation had begun.
After a few months without news, the new L200 is once again seen in broad daylight. However, unlike the previous sighting, the test mule has been photographed in a totally different environment. Mitsubishi has moved its “headquarters” to the south of the Old Continent to carry out the important summer tests. Let’s take a look.
Spy photos of the new Mitsubishi L200 2024
The exterior of the hunted specimen is almost completely covered in camouflage. Moreover, there is hardly any change in camouflage compared to the first encounter with the new generation of the L200. On this occasion the test mule was in circulation and, what is even more relevant, it was carrying out drag tests. As can be seen in the snapshots that accompany this article, the vehicle had a small trailer intended for this type of test.
This time we do not have the opportunity to look inside, but it is revealed that it is a right-hand drive vehicle. Recall that this model is known as Mitsubishi Triton far from European borders. The fact that it is a test mule and almost the entire exterior is covered confirms the indications that we are dealing with a totally new vehicle.
Mitsubishi has decided to change the base that supports the L200. It will release a platform and, therefore, the measures will undergo variations. The same spy photos hint at a longer wheelbase compared to the current model. Being part of the so-called “Alliance” is allowing Mitsubishi to carry out different synergies with the Renault Group and with Nissan.
The commitment to the electrification of the new Mitsubishi L200 2024
Regarding the mechanical section there will also be surprises. The Mitsubishi pick-up will finally succumb to electrification. It must adapt to the new times in markets like Europe. In the range of engines there will be hybrid solutions.
When will it hit the market? The development process is still at an early stage. If everything goes according to plan, the new L200 will be ready to start its global marketing sometime in 2024. It is important to remember that the last update this model underwent was in 2019 with a facelift for the current generation. .
