Miguel Barbosa was born in Zinacantepec, Puebla, on September 30, 1959.
He became governor of his home state in the extraordinary elections that were held after the death of Governor Martha Érika Alonso in a plane crash on September 24, 2018.
He assumed the governorship of his state in August 2019.
