But Sony’s concern could go beyond losing the lead with Call of Duty. And it is that, according to Nick Shpeshal, a member of Xbox Era, there is another very important aspect that entails the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft: that Microsoft would access confidential information from Sony and Activision after its purchase.

“I think Sony should be very careful with their offense and what they say. Because, let’s think logically: when Microsoft buys a company, or when a company buys another, theoretically they have access to everything. And that would include documents, current contracts, all sorts of things.
I think that Microsoft has been able to see certain things that Sony has tried to do with Activision: marketing agreements, attempted marketing agreements, contractual clauses. Microsoft may have already had access to that, because it’s going to buy Activision. So I think Sony should be careful what they say, because Microsoft could hypothetically release the information.”
