When Microsoft announced its first official headphones for Xbox Series (which are also compatible with Windows and Xbox One) we mentioned that one of their great absences was the possibility of using them through a wired connection. A very strange move considering that the Xbox Series controllers still have a 3.5mm jack port for wired headsets.
The answer came today, as the company announced a new model of stereo headphones for Xbox Series, which, unlike the aforementioned model, do not have wireless connectivity through Xbox Wireless, but can only be used through the connection wired.
Are there more differences between the wired and wireless models?
Microsoft specified that its new stereo headphones have the same design as its wireless headphones. However, one of its aesthetic differences is that the command dials do not have a green line around the edges.
On the other hand, the company says that this model does have an adjustable microphone and is compatible with atmospheric sound through Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos and DTS Headphones: X to offer more realism and precision in games.
The advantage of being a wired model is that there is no battery inside, so you will not have to worry about autonomy. They are also compatible with any equipment that has a 3.5 mm Jack port.
However, a disadvantage is that by not having wireless connection technology it is only possible to use them on one device at a time, since the wireless model allows you to use the headphones with the console and phone at the same time to listen to music while you play, or , to have a call on Discord in other game sessions.
Price and availability
In the United States, the headphones will go on sale on September 21. In the case of Mexico, this model It is already announced on the official Xbox page, but there is no date for its commercialization.
The cost of these headphones in Mexico will be 1,599 pesos, 700 pesos cheaper compared to the wireless version.
