Microsoft didn’t just announce its new line of computers during its hardware event. Those of Redmond took advantage of the occasion to present two completely new devices: the audio-dock and the Presenter+. It should be noted that both are aimed at the labor sector, a market where those from Redmond have had a very solid presence for years. In this case, however, they want to focus on meeting the needs that arise in two specific activities: meetings and presentations.
We start first with the Microsoft Audio Dock, a all in one speaker that aims to conquer your desk or meeting rooms. Its simple and compact design can fit in most setups. The idea is simple: control (almost) everything from a single device. In the Audio Dock you can connect, for example, your laptop and expand the image to two external monitors. And all while your computer charges at the same time thanks to the USB-C connection. On the back it has two USB-C ports, one USB-A and one HDMI.
The Audio Dock also incorporates high quality microphones to say goodbye to “we don’t hear you well” during meetings. These microphones, in fact, have the ability to eliminate background noise. From Microsoft they point out that their Omnisonic speakers offer high quality sound. They were specifically designed so that you can get the best sound experience while listening to music or when you are in a virtual meeting.
Compatibility with applications and tools is not far behind. The Audio Dock can be integrated, for example, with Microsoft Teams. “You can quickly join a meeting and ‘raise your hand’ to participate thanks to the built-in button for Teams.” Of course, it has additional buttons to control audio playback. For now we do not know its price and release date.
Microsoft Presenter+, your ally during presentations
Surely on some occasion you have been present at a meeting where a presentation is being projected and, every time it is necessary to change the slide, the speaker must interrupt his talk. Either to interact with the computer himself, or to tell someone else to do so. While there are a wide variety of devices that solve this problem, the Microsoft Presenter+ wants to set itself apart from the rest.
Microsoft Presenter+ does not distinguish between face-to-face and virtual presentations. In either case, can make it easier for you to interact with your slides so you never lose the attention of your audience. It even has an indicator whose purpose is to notify you when your microphone is off during an online meeting, thus avoiding the awkwardness of someone else letting you know. Of course, it also has a pointer to point to the screen.
Being a product signed by those of Redmond, the Microsoft Presenter + boasts integration with Teams. It has buttons to join a meeting directly or to ‘raise your hand’ and participate in it. It also features a programmable button that you can assign a custom action to.
An important point is that the Presenter+ will not have connection loss problems if the presenter moves away from the computer, since thanks to the Bluetooth It has a range of up to 10 meters. Finally, it can be easily loaded thanks to its dock with USB-C port. Like the previous product, we are waiting to know its price and availability date, although it will surely arrive before the end of the year.
