Jagger, 78, had experienced symptoms after arriving at Amsterdam’s Johan Cruyff Arena, the band said.
Representatives of Mojo Concerts, which had organized the recital in the Netherlands, informed the public present in the stadium of what had happened an hour and a half before the time set for the start of the presentation.
Can’t sing, can’t play
Jagger “can’t sing, can’t play,” said one announcer. “There is no show tonight.”
Amsterdam was to be the fourth stop on the “Stones Sixty” European tour, following Thursday’s performance in Liverpool.
The band’s 60th anniversary tour has been visiting stadiums around the world, with their European tour being the most anticipated this year, after kicking off in Madrid on June 1.
