The Ministry of Health reported that in the last 24 hours, 17,546 new infections by COVID-19 were registered, totaling 3 million 328 thousand 863 confirmed cases since the health emergency began in Mexico.
Until yesterday, Mexico registers 257,906 deaths derived from the coronavirus, the agency detailed in its daily report.
According to the federal agency, 62% of deaths registered by this disease are predominantly men and their average age ranges from 64 years.
Currently there are 134 thousand 239 active cases estimated, that is, people who started with symptoms in the last 14 days and who could transmit the virus.
Additionally, there are 5 million 876 thousand 542 negative cases.
The entities that accumulate the highest number of cases are: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tabasco, Puebla, Veracruz Sonora and San Luis Potosí.

The authorities also indicated that so far the vaccination program, which includes all those over 18 years of age, has administered 84 million doses of the vaccine against COVID-19, adding 592,870 in the last day.
The report also specified that 33.2 million people have completed the vaccination scheme, of the total 126 million inhabitants that the country has, that is, 26.3%.
Since December 2020, the country has received 97.41 million doses of Britain’s AstraZeneca, Russia’s Sputnik V, America’s Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna, in addition to China’s CanSino, Sinovac and Sinopharm.
