Every year, Within the framework of the International Day of Happiness that is celebrated on March 20, Ipsos is in charge of listing the happiest countries in the worlda survey of 22,500 people from 32 countries, Mexico included.
We live in a highly complex, fast-moving era that, to tell the truth, has radically changed in recent years, where the pandemic, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and inflation, among other issues, have been placed in people’s minds.
Recently, a survey carried out by Ipsos reveals that inflation, poverty and social inequality, crime and violence, unemployment, climate change, among many others, are the biggest concerns of a large number of respondentsshowing that the Covid-19 is being left behind.
And we must not forget that the arrival of the pandemic generated significant stress in people’s lives, to such an extent that, In recent years, there has been a greater echo about mental and emotional healthcarrying out various campaigns in order to put the issue on the table and come up with different solutions.
Mexico, one of the happiest countries in the world
International Day of Happiness is celebrated every March 20.a kind of recognition that has the objective of pointing out the role that it plays in the lives of people around the world.
Under this framework, each year Ipsos has been in charge of listing the happiest countries in the worldtaking into account three essential factors:
- feel that my life has meaning
- Feeling like I have control over my life
- Mental health and wellness
As shown in the graph deposited at the top, China is the happiest country on the planet, where 91 percent of respondents say they feel that way.
Another fact to note is that Mexico is the fifth happiest country in the world, thanks to the fact that 81 percent of the citizens surveyed describe themselves as happydespite the fact that the country abounds in issues of extreme concern such as violence, insecurity and unemployment.
It is worth mentioning that in the 32 countries analyzed, 73 percent of the population declares themselves quite or very happy, experiencing a growth of 6 percentage points compared to the previous year (December 2021).
