The bounty hunter would return with one of her best adventures.
There are games that mark a before and after for many franchises, although these could either mean the end of the saga or a new era for these. In that sense, one of Nintendo’s most iconic franchises is Metroid, a title starring Samus Aran who was one of the first female characters that could be controlled, also creating, during the process and together with Konami’s Castlevania saga, a new genre, which is known as metroidvania.
Be that as it may, the truth is that with the arrival of 3D, Nintendo’s fear for the future of this saga was quite palpable, proof of this being the absence of a title in the saga on Nintendo 64 due to the fact that They didn’t look like they had the capabilities to outperform Super Metroid.. However, in 2002 and after an arduous development, Metroid Prime hit the market, this being the title that managed to adapt perfectly to all three dimensions.
Metroid Prime would arrive on Nintendo Switch later this year
The latter was not only reflected in the positive reviews and praise the game received, but also put the name of Retro Studios as one of the greats in the industry, colliding with the fact that in recent years they have done practically nothing.
In any case, one of the most rumored games and that theoretically would already be finished and ready to launch, would be Metroid Prime Remaster, a title that would bring back this same adventure to commemorate its 20 years since its launch. And it seems that the title may be closer than we think.
In the video that you can see on these lines the insider NateTheHate has shared a series of predictions and leaks, mentioning here sagas like Fire Emblem, Persona, Xenoblade and Metroid. Focusing on the latter, Nate would be stating that Metroid Prime remaster would be released on Nintendo Switch in the second half of this year, so we would be only eleven months away from getting back into Samus’s armor.
It should be noted that this means half good news, since there are many who expected to see the return of the Prime saga, not only with a fourth installment of which we still do not know anything beyond its logo, but also expected the release of the original trilogy. Also, it is quite shocking that, instead of being a remake, it is a remaster. Be that as it may, none of this is confirmed, so, until then, this information will have to be taken with a grain of salt.
