Metal Gear Solid 2 was released in 2001, 21 years later a German developer decided to recreate the intro with Unreal Engine 5. The results will amaze you, don’t miss it!
Updating classic games to suit today’s graphical needs is a difficult task. Many times, even important developers like RockstarGames they must release patches and updates in a game to correct errors like in the GTA Trilogy. But in this case we are not talking about a complete game but about the intro of the Metar Gear Solid 2, released in 2021.
Although the comparisons between the development in-game with a cinematic it has its clear differences, the truth is that what a person achieved is still amazing. Erasmus Brosdau, a German developer, was in charge of remodeling the intro of Metal Gear Solid 2 with the new Unreal Engine 5.
This was revealed through a clip posted on Brosdau’s Twitter there we can see a 5 second video with the caption “work in progress. Real-time kinematics”. This is just a part of the intro, so we can wait a while longer to see the final result.
In this clip from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, we can see Solid Snake while making his descent to the tanker. Right after that moment, it will appear raiden, this is an impressive scene seeing not only the lighting and rain sections, but also comparing it to the original installment of Konami in 2001.

So great was the impact of this video developed by Brosdau, that even Hideo Kojima, creator of the game, echoed. The director and writer of the game decided to retweet the clip of the German developer on his account, this caused the video to be seen by Kojima’s more than 3 million followers.
